1962 Gretsch 6120

1962 Gretsch 6120

Originally developed in the '50s for legendary Nashville musician, Chet Atkins, the Gretsch 6120 is one of those iconic instruments that has taken on its own mythology. This particular example is a beautiful 1962 double cutaway in mostly original condition. The only non-original piece of hardware is a replacement set of gold Grover Rotomatic tuners. When plugged in, this example has that classic Gretsch sparkle and twang thanks to its two original Filter'Tron pickups. Bright and open sounding, this example sounds delightful.

Cosmetic condition throughout is great, with the only exceptions being a crack running through the pickguard and the binding-rot found on nearly every Gretsch guitar from this period, however it is stable in and in good condition. Otherwise, all hardware is fully functional. Plays beautifully with a low-medium action.

Also included in the sale is the original case, however it has clearly seen many a gig!
