1970s Maton PM2 Phil Manning Standard White

1970s Maton PM2 Phil Manning Standard White

A rare electric beast from Maton in the 1970s!

For those not in the know, Phil Manning is an Australian blues singer and guitarist, most notable for his involvement in the band Chain. This particular example is the standard model which saw manufacture sometime around the mid to late '70s. Finished in what originally appears to have been white, this example has faded overtime and developed a more yellow hue throughout. Designed with obvious style cues towards the Les Paul, this example features a set neck construction, two humbuckers, and a single volume and tone control with a three-way switch. These originally featured a switch mounted by the bridge pickup which was used for coil splitting, however is no longer present on this example. Both pickups have been replaced, with the neck being a Schaller and the bridge appearing to be an old Dimarzio Super Distortion. The original tuners have also been swapped with a set of Gotoh tuners.

Cosmetic condition is fair with notable wear throughout. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a low action. Includes a hardcase.
