1984 Squier MIJ SQ-Series Stratocaster White

A very cool offering from the early days of Squier, priced to move!

Following the original, and highly regarded JV series in '82, the SQ series combined the silhouettes of '70s CBS-era Stratocasters with the extraordinary build quality of the Squier line at the time. These feature a super comfortable 7.25" fretboard radius on a beautifully played in maple neck. These featured a few different types of wood for the body construction, with examples featuring alder, basswood, and sen present. We however were not able to determine the wood type on this one. This particular example retains a lot of its wiring and pickup originality, with the exception of a replaced volume pot. At some stage, someone has installed a Kahler-type tremolo on the guitar with doweled holes at the headstock indicating a string-locking mechanism. Unfortunately as a result of the Kahler installation, the low E will not completely intonate, it's a little sharp past the 12th fret. This would be well rectified with a replacement Stratocaster bridge.

Cosmetic condition is okay with some noticeable dings, wear, and fading to the guitar. Hardware is functional, and plays with a low-medium action. Includes a Fender-branded hardcase.
