1978 Fender Mustang Olympic White

1978 Fender Mustang Olympic White

A stunning all original Mustang from the late '70s!

One of Fenders student models, the Mustang was a smaller scale model that still featured interesting switching options and a tremolo system in contrast to models like the Musicmaster, Duo-Sonic, and Bronco. This particular example has a '78 serial with the original pots indicating 1977. The 24" scale length on these models make them a bit more accessible than the other student offerings, with this particular neck sporting a great feeling '70s 'C' profile.

The original finish has now yellowed and has taken on an almost banana like tone. The frets appear original as does the wiring, pickups, and pots. Some foam has been added in one of the cavities as well as a screw added into the tremolo system, but besides that this is a great example with plenty of mojo and character.

Cosmetic condition is okay for its age with some present play wear and dings present throughout, most notably near the treble side of the pickguard. Hardware is fully functional, and plays well with a low action. Includes a non-original hardcase and tremolo arm.
